Pick up is from the left hand side fire exit door as you face the building, please queue as children are dismissed one at a time. Please come over near to the door so we can see you.
Please do not come too early for classes as either set-up or other classes will be taking place-we can not promise to care for children as we set-up for sessions.
Safeguarding and door security:
The main entrance door to Northop Edith Bankes Memorial Hall will be unlocked for the first 5 minutes of each class for arrivals. After this time, the doors will be locked for the remainder of the session. This will help ensure that only authorised adults can enter the hall.
Once the foyer door closes behind arrivals, it automatically locks again, however it functions as a fire door so it can be opened from the inside.
Please arrive promptly for classes.
If you arrive late and the doors are locked, please knock on the side door on the left hand side of the building (where we let the children out from) please note we may not hear this if music is playing so please wait until no music is playing.
Fire exits will, of course, remain fully accessible from the inside at all times.

COMMERCIAL DANCE MASTERCLASS WITH ALYX STEELE We are SO excited to be opening bookings for this very special opportunity for our 7+ dancers! Following lots of interest from our families, we are delighted to confirm that Alyx Steele will be joining us for an exclusive Commercial Dance Masterclass all of the way from L.A! Alyx is a Liverpool-born choreographer and creative director, currently based in Los Angeles, with over 22 years of professional experience working across the commercial entertainment industry. She has worked across artist tours, live shows, television, film, music videos and major events and is the Founder of Smash Global. She now works internationally as a choreographer and creative director. This is a fantastic opportunity for our dancers to learn directly from someone who has extensive real-world experience within the professional dance industry. MASTERCLASS DETAILS: Sunday 20th September 11:30am-1:00pm Edith Bankes Memorial Hall, Northop £27.50 per dancer Ages 7+ (Our teens class dancers are very welcome!) WHAT WILL WE BE WORKING ON? The 90-minute masterclass will be tailored specifically to our dancers and will include: ✨ Learning a commercial choreography piece ✨ Performance and musicality ✨ Building confidence and stage presence ✨ Developing individuality and learning how to perform choreography ✨ Picking up choreography quickly ✨ Understanding how to take direction ✨ Camera awareness and performance skills ✨ An insight into the professional commercial dance world For our older dancers who may be interested in pursuing dance as a career, Alyx will also share valuable insight into auditions, agents, artist work, tours, TV, film and working professionally in the industry, with a Q&A included at the end of the session. Alyx is passionate about encouraging dancers to understand what they personally bring to the room, rather than simply trying to dance like everyone else. She creates a positive, inclusive environment where dancers can build confidence, express themselves and develop their own performance style, something that fits perfectly with our ethos at Samantha Dene's! A LITTLE NOTE FOR THE DAY: We would love for our dancers to attend wearing their Samantha Dene's Dance and Fitness T-shirt, with their hair neat and tidy. White T-shirts welcome for those who don't have Samantha Dene's T-shirts. Must be wearing trainers. We'll be taking lots of photos and videos throughout the masterclass to capture the experience and showcase our dancers working with Alyx, so please make sure they are ready to be camera-ready! WE CAN'T WAIT! We are incredibly excited to be able to offer our dancers this opportunity and think it is going to be a really special experience for them. A chance to learn, perform, build confidence, work with a professional choreographer and get a real insight into the commercial dance industry, all right here in Northop!
